Send Tommy a Note or a Joke!

Tommy, helping his grandson at a recent CrossFit Kids class!

If you’ve been around CFE for a while, you’ve probably met Tommy Price, one of our athletes who’s a regular evening class attendee during the school year. Tommy is a special education teacher extraordinaire and he’s all over the CFE class schedule during the summer, getting his workouts in before day trips, yard work or training walks!

Yes, even after knee surgery this year (nothing holds him down for long), he’s back training for September in a major way. Why September? Tommy is a tireless supporter of the fight against breast cancer, each year raising funds – over $2,300 this year alone – for the the Susan G. Komen foundation’s 3 Day 60 mile walk.

On the first night in camp, a Friday night that follows their first 20 miles, the walkers are given mail that has been sent from friends & family. And as you can guess, words of encouragement mean a lot after that first long day.

So how about taking a few minutes to send some support & encouragement to Tommy? You can send it snail mail at any time, but it must be postmarked by September 10th in order to be gathered, sorted and delivered that Friday night. I can only imagine how great it would be to get support  from his fellow athletes at CrossFit Everett, who know what it’s like to keep going, no matter what and who continually support anyone who’s deep in a WOD with shouts of “you’ve got this”, “you’re almost there!” and “come on Tommy!”.

The address to send a note, card or postcard to is:

Susan G. Komen 3-Day Camp Mail
Attn:  Tommy Price
P.O. Box 4451
Seattle, WA  98194

For the cost of a stamp and a few minutes of your time to sign a card or write a note, you can lift up a fellow CrossFitter, tell him great job or how much you appreciate his efforts for the fight against breast cancer, let him know you’re thinking about his tired feet, or maybe share a joke to make him laugh! Any postcard or note makes a difference.

We’d love to see Tommy get more mail than he expected and especially things he can share with his fellow 3 Day Warriors on that first night, when everyone could use a bit of uplifting!

Thanks everyone for sharing our CFE community spirit with Tommy

And thank you Tommy for fighting the good fight

We are all rooting for you (and your knee!)!
