When you first start something that’s new to you, you more than likely practice & listen with a different intent – that of understanding, getting it right, maybe even becoming a master of the lift or movement.

As you become more comfortable with the movements, sometimes that initial resolve of mastering or practicing great form gets sacrificed to competition or speed or that elusive RX. It’s easy to become complacent or think you no longer need that practice.

Seeing this picture yesterday was a good reminder to me.
Do you see the common good form?

Working on good form, continually honing those skills, always has a payback (whether you see it today or six months from now!). Remember that skill practice and WOD’s with intent to improve or master, provide benefits that we’re not always aware of – that of leveraged learning (what you know or use in one area, applies to another and can shorten the time to gain new skills).
