Looking Back at 2013

The folks from WordPress (whose templates we use for our website) provide a lot of statistics for us to track all the ways our site is used. Most of our gym members use the website to view the daily WOD but the number of visits show that our website also has a community of readers who’ve never stepped a foot into our box, let alone Everett, Washington.

So how did 2013 look at CrossFitEverett.com?

 In 2013, our website:

  • Was clicked on 151,198 times (that’s more than 415 views a day on average)
  • Our web site grew by 467 posts (hey, come on, they weren’t all WOD’s!)
  • We added over 880 photos
  • Most popular web page was our updated staff  page (wow, that surprises me! but then again, we do have some of the hottest coaches!)
  • Most popular post was Don’t Be a CrossFit A$#hole
  • Most popular recipe was Paleo Crockpot Chili a.k.a. Asher’s Dino Smash  (second year in a row – you know some things just have staying power, right, Robyn?!?)

Many who find us, do it through a search using Google or Yahoo, but do you know what words they use? The top phrases/words used to find us were:

  • Crossfit Everett (naturally!) and all it’s variations (everett crossfit, crossfit in everett, crossfit everett washington, etc.)
  • burpees (seriously? that many people find US by typing in burpees?)
  • avocado ice cream (yes, we’ve got a recipe for that!)
  • Jessica Ekholm (hmmm… Jessica – are you on a most wanted list or what?)

who’d have thought?

How do people find us? Our top referrers (web sites that have links to our articles) are:e:

  • Facebook.com
  • Pinterest.com
  • CrossFit.com

And speaking of Facebook, Monday through Friday you can find a thought of the day, a quote to either inspire, make you think or make you laugh and of course, the WOD. From Facebook, these were our most liked/shared thoughts of the day this past year:

If you’re on Facebook, but didn’t know we were – “Like” our page and check it out.

Most of our web site visitors come from the US (141,300 to be exact), yet our fellow athletes in Canada, the United Kingdom & Australia spend time checking up on us. Overall, we had visits from 121 countries to our site (Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, Argentina, Chile, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Spain, France, Poland, Russia, China, India, etc.) and I had to go look up where Seychelles is as we had one visitor from there (fyi – it is a 115-island country spanning an archipelago in the Indian Ocean, some 1,500 kilometres (932 mi) east of mainland Southeast Africa, northeast of the island of Madagascar.)

Once again, when people say CrossFit is world-wide fitness, these statistics say that’s true, pretty cool, huh?

Thank you for being part of our community!
