Tips for 14.1

February 28, 2014 Leave a comment Go to comments

Here are some tips for 14.1, from Dave at RXSmart Gear (the folks that make our jump ropes)

The biggest takeaways are this:

1. Go for unbroken on your double unders but use a smooth, methodical pace trying to keep your heart rate as low as possible.
You need to be as fresh as possible when you pick up the barbell.
2. Keep your grip as relaxed as possible on the rope because you’re going to need fresh forearms on the snatches.
3. Keep your rope organized and place it on the ground rather than dropping or throwing it down.
Untangling a rope wastes precious seconds.
4. Keep your rope close to your bar.
Running parallel to your bar is ideal for least amount of travel between movements.
